POWER FACTOR CORRECTION AND STATIC POWER CORRECTION PANELS
Power factor correction panels are the panels that aim to correct the power factor by activating or removing the capacitive reactances in the case of batteries in case of need for correction of the power factor. The power factor controller monitors the load of the system through the Low Voltage panel and activates and deactivates the battery groups in order to keep the power factor at the set value. It provides ideal power factor regulation by taking into account the lagged variables in the system. Compensation panels are the panels that aim to correct the power factor by activating or removing the capacitive reactances in the case of batteries in case of need for correction of the power factor. It is a reliable solution to provide the clean energy quality required for theeconomical use of electrical loads in the distribution network.
Static Power Correction Panels are used in cases where conventional compensation relays are insufficient for activating and removing batteries in response to rapidly changing loads. Thyristor Modules are used instead of contactors for the connection of compensation batteries to the main busbar. It activates the battery when the busbar voltage and the battery voltage are zero and works by deactivating it at the zero point of the current. This time is shorter than 20ms, so that the sudden start current is prevented, only the nominal currents pass through the capacitors and the risk of rupture is eliminated.
